Hupari. A Craft Story.

Coffee table book design for the potential resurrection of a traditional Indian art form.

Hupari is a ancient form of silver jewellery design, indigenous to Solapur in India.
The art form has been plagarised largely by urban jewellery designers that is robbing many families of the value of their ancestral skill.

As part of my Undergrad Craft Research Project we went to Solapur to study the on ground problems, interact with the real families who are the custodians of this art form and then we went about to build our book on it; which was then distributed across major government agencies and institutions to create awareness about the situation and get government officials to lend a helping hand.
